It is awful hard to get a photo of a road runner, they are always on ground and on the move, this one was on the ground and jumped in the bush when I got close, surprised me, maybe nest was nearby as it was calling me every name in the book.

I love this giant cottonwood, the base is about as wide as my car is long. If you happened to catch my photo "Funnelvision" this tree is about 2 miles farther in, on same forest road, by the banks of the Agua Fria River, N of Mayer, AZ. Another of my picnic spots.

The San Francisco Peaks N of Flagstaff as seen from an old burn area. They are dormant volcanoes and the highlight of an 1100 square mile volcanic field. There are over 600 vents in the area. The SF Peaks form the western boundary to the Navajo nation.
